My Doctor Visits Are Expensive

There are many health insurance carriers out there in the marketplace.  Moreover, there are even more health insurance plans to choose from.  Looking at the benefit details is an important step to picking the right insurance plan.  Is doctor visits important to you?

Some health insurance plans have dollar co-pay amounts to visit the doctor, some have a percentage rate, and some also have a limited number of visits.  The more expensive plans, have unlimited visits at a fixed dollar amount, like $30 for example.  Other plans have a percentage amount, like 50% you have to pay for each doctor visit.  Those types of plans can get costly if you are always visiting the doctor.  And the less expensive plans will allow you to visit the doctor for a limited number of times, like 3 or 4 times, and then you are responsible for 100% of negotiated amount moving forward.  It is important to know your health history so you can determine which plans makes the most sense.  Also, you can make the trade-off between how much you want to pay per month for the health insurance and how much you want to pay to see the doctor.
